Got trans fixed now power steering problem.
Ok I recently went and had my transmission fixed. Things are great with the transmission it could not be better. Here is my dilema now my power sterring has gone out. When I took my car to be worked on it was working just fine. Well they told me that they checked it out and didnt see anything wrong with it. I also checked the fluid level and there is no whistlleing sound so I am not sure it is the pump because wouldnt that go in time not all of a sudden?? Anyways I am going to take it back but what might the problem be the belt, could that have pinched a line??? THanks for looking.. Is this something ther transmission shop did to the car??

Re: Got trans fixed now power steering problem.
worked fine before they touched the car, didn't work after they touched it
I don't even need to look up the details of tranny removal to know the answer to this one. the instructions for tranny R&R I have aren't very clear. It suggests that you may need to remove the entire rack/K member to pull the tranny. But I'm not positive. But either way, sounds like they messed something up.

Re: Got trans fixed now power steering problem.
is the belt tight?
are the lines connected? its probably something simple like that. even if the poser steering belt is tight, there may be a related belt that drives the belt that drives the power steering could be loose. |
