98 Ranger - Warning Buzzer

Does anyone know how to disconnect the interior warning buzzer on a 98 Ranger? It dings sporadically after I start my truck and it's driving me crazy. Thanks.

Re: 98 Ranger - Warning Buzzer

are you talking about the door adjar buzzer? you can disconect it but you loose interior lights comming on when you open the door. take off door pannel, reach in there where the latch lock mec is and disconect the wire. if you have power locks, the first connection is lock actuator and just after that is the door jam switch.

Re: 98 Ranger - Warning Buzzer

I do have power locks and I've attempted to replace the driver side door switch. I've been unable to disconnect the door switch from the bottom of the latch because it doesn't seem to disconnect after turning. It's not the door ajar buzzer because the wires to the door switch are diconnected.

I'm sure you have fixed your problem by now but I had the same problem and not want to cut any wires. My brother looked at it and sprayed the button in the door with w40 and I have not had a problem with it since. I think the button was getting stuck
