Unhappy vs executive cruise control conversion

Hi, I am currently converting my vs exec to cruise. I have fitted
a- the acctuater and cable
b- the new blinker stalk
c- the relay
d- the brake switch

The crs light and the on lights come on but the cruise isnt working. Does anyone know how to set the cruise to diagnostic mode so i can check if the acctuater is working because that is the only second hand part i used.
Or is there something i missed?
Any suggestions appreciated. Cheers
