94 350ci 4x4 manual tranny swap
I have a 94 silverado 4x4 5.7 liter w/manual tranny. What I need to know is if a '90-'94 manual tranny out of a 2 wheel drive 350 will bolt up and work in my '94 4x4? What tranny do I have and are they the same tranny's? Do I just bolt up the transfer case to the back of the other tranny? Any correspondance would be greatly appreciated.

Re: 94 350ci 4x4 manual tranny swap
There were three different manual transmissions used in that time frame. The first was the old 4-speed, second is the light duty 5-speed, and third is the heavy duty 5-speed(has granny gear). The transmission are the same except for the tail shaft is longer on the 2x4 that it is on the 4x4, so to use a trans from a 2x4 on a 4x4 you will have to pull the trans down and change the tail shaft over.
