92 Brake pads and rotor Q

I have a 1992 Integra Gs, the hood that is on the car is not stock, so the catylist isnt correct. I was shopping for pads and rotors and every place I went to asked for the engine size to determine the rotors and pads. The place I bought it from told me its a 1.7 but arent all the 1.7's that year v-tec and I dont think mine has v-tec. I was wondering if anyone knows if it really matters or if I have to find out which motor I have. Thanks
