96 Ford Ranger Sluggish
I just had a new head put on and a lot of other stuff. Just about everything under the hood is new. It feels a little sluggish in each gear (standard), like something is holding it back and then lets go. Is this normal, do I need to allow a break in period. The head was not brand new.

sounds like timing depending on what was replaced. Make shure its exact timing is in order, Also check for vacuum leaks, common problem with sluggish take off or rough idle.

Re: 96 Ford Ranger Sluggish
The timing belt was changed, it idles great. i did have some vaccum leaks but they were fixed, not sure if mechanic checked the timing. I would think he would have checked it since it was in for a tune up but don't know
