Heater core removal 1995 K-3500 with Air
My heater core has begun to leak into the cab. Any first thoughts, hints or tricks in removing it?
Thanks for the replies |

I just pulled the bottom cover and worked the cover out, it's kind of a pain but beats pulling the entire heater box. All but one bolt is easy to remove the hard one is against the firewall.

Horse, did you need to remove the blower?

I didn't, but after thinking about it I think that your heater box is different, my truck is a '94 and I think that they changed the way that the heater box is designed in '95. I remember guys telling me that the newer style is easier to change the heater core that it was on mine. I am looking at a Haynes repair manual and it says that you need to remove the blower motor, but like I say there is a lot of things that it said that I needed to do on my truck to change mine that I didn't do and didn't have any problems. I would type what the manual says but it would take a while, I think that you can pick one up at a parts store for about $15.
