Angry Oil Pressure

Just curious to know how much oil pressure i should be running while idling and then while in stop and go traffic. My gauge is in kpa and it seems rather low to me. Usually between 25 and 75 kpa.

Re: Oil Pressure

All you need is about 10psi per 1000 rpm's. the conversation is roughly 7(kpa) to 1(psi).

Re: Oil Pressure

GM gauges are notoriously inaccurate. That MIGHT be the problem.

Take a known good gauge and tap into the oil system to check the actual pressures. It could be your pressure sender, your gauge, or your engine (worn pump, engine bearings, etc.).
