NEED HELP ASAP -96 Sunfire Convertible SE 2.4 stalls constantly
Can anyone help???
Service History: March 2005 Replaced clutch Replaced plugs + plug wires, coils, control module & distributor cap April 2005 Replaced control module for 2nd time July 2005 Replaced Fuel Pump & Fuel Filter Replaced Catalytic Converter Replaced control module for the 3rd time March 2006 Had brakes& alignment done Checked plugs, plug wires, fuel filter & hoses – all ok Symptoms When engine is cold it tries to cut out (stall) during acceleration and deceleration. After putting foot on gas pedal it will eventually rev and go, but it will cut out both going from stop to start and while driving city streets up to 40mph. It also has the strong smell of raw fuel. It seems to run fine while hwy driving at approx 3000 RPM’s. It also runs a lot better when the engine is hot. Symptoms have been progressively getting worse for the last 5 months, but would only act up 2 or 3 times a week. After driving home from getting brakes & alignment done, the symptom strength multiplied by at least 3 and now cuts out every time. Any ideas? Last edited by helpmysunfire; 03-28-2006 at 02:45 PM.
