dash speakers

I have a 1992 GMC safari with the original dash speakers. I have tried to replace them but i can not figure out how to get to them. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Re: dash speakers

I know it has been almost a year since you psted your question but.....
I also have a 1992 GMC Safari van. The front speakers seem to have blown. They cannot produce any bass. All you have to do is get a flat head screwdriver and pry off the top of the speaker grill on the dash. You do not have to disassemble the dash. The speakers are held in place by two 9/32 hex head screws. Once you get those off disassemble the attachment plug and you are good to go.
