After months of searching for any Hasegawa Lancer Evo kit in 1/24th scale and virtually giving up hope (most on E Bay were too expensive and I always got outbid) I remembered that 1 of the first models I built was the Lancer Evo road version.I also remember that my original build was pretty poor to say the least,so yesterday I dug it out of a box in the attic to see if it would be possible to convert it to the rally version from the 1993/1994 season.Like this one.
Anyway after looking at the various bits and pieces I thought I would have a go at doing it as I had nothing to lose. The Evo 1 was compared to my completed Hasegawa Evo 4 revealing that the 2 kits shared a lot of parts, however some bits were missing.I am going to need the seats, left hand drive dashboard and various bits for the inside, the main thing being the roll cage, which will have to be scratch built.Externally I have a lot of the decals already from other kits but I will need to mask the main colour scheme and design and make the decals I don't have on the computer and printer.
So today I made a start first stripping the old red paint off of the road car shell and filling the fuel filler flap on the offside rear quarter panel. Then removing the aeriel mounting from the nearside quarter panel and filling the indicators on both front wings. Then I gave the whole shell a light coat of primer. The two pictures below show the progress so far.
Also if any body knows of a good website for photos of the car please let me know as I am struggling to find pictures.I will post more progress pics as I get further into the build.Steve.
