Steering Wheel Removal for New Ign.-1995

Has anyone removed the steering wheel from a 1995 or similar year that has the air bag?

I suspect my ignition switch is going bad-car loses 12 volts momentarily while driving. A new switch is only ~$12 at Auto Zone, but installing it looks formidable.

It is unfortunate there are no replies, because I too need to replace my 94 transport ignition switch. It looks like the wheel has to come off, but you need to disable air bag first? Did you or anyone else proceed with this switch replacement?

Sorry for the very late reply, but I ended up taking the van to a Pont. dealer. Paid ~$100 for the job. This is similar to other things I don't attempt--dashboard work, inside door/window panels, etc.
