Maxima in Snow

I was interested in purchasing an 02 maxima. Does anyone know how these vehicles ride in the snow and ice? should i look to an SUV?

There are very few cars, in fact, almost none that are good in snow and ice. Even SUV's aren't "good" In snow and ice. But with the maxima being pretty heavy, and front wheel drive, and if you get ABS, you'll do alright... But hey, anythings better than my old civic.

Don't bother with the SUV as they are only good in deep snow and lousy in slippery weather. Just get a good set of snows on another set of rims and go nuts

snow tires for 2000 maxima

I was interested in getting snow tires for my 2000 maxima, after my third winter... I currently have the option 225_50_17 tires/wheels.

Does anyone know why I would not be able to go with a set of 16" snow tires/wheels. The handling may be different with the different size tires, I could live with that. My concern is the 16" wheel fitting over the calipers and stuff. I'd like to think the 16's would be a drop in replacement.

anytime i have driven my maxima in snow it did fine, unless you plan on driving in 3ft+ of snow then i dont think there will be a problem.

Re: snow tires for 2000 maxima

16's will fit fine, just make sure you get the right offset.
