1990 SHO fuel pump problem?

We changed the fuel pump and still nothing.. We cant hear it running, the pump that is. We changed the saftey switch in the trunk. So is there a reason for not getting power to the pump? Maybe a fuseable link? Any suggestion?

Was the old pump bad?? Or you just couldn't hear it come on??? Not sure, but possibly there may be a relay for the pump in the integrated controller(correct name??) relay box that sits on top of your radiator, I had an 87 Taurus, I believe there were several relays in that box for various components, maybe another on here could check, I have no details for sure.

see if you can get the motor of the old pump to turn just by applying outside power something small and safe like a 9 volt

Re: 1990 SHO fuel pump problem?

There is a relay for the fuel pump in the Constant Control Relay Module (CCRM). You may wish to review http://www.members.aol.com/Rod241473...uff/CCRM-1.jpg and http://www.members.aol.com/Rod241473...uff/CCRM-2.jpg for diagrams.

Do you actually know that you are not getting voltage to the pump (by using a meter and measuring)?
