Fiero guy lookin to buy 2000 up celica

I am droping in a 350hp 327 in the 85 fiero gt i got- and i'll be neeeding a daily. But for me i hate slow... as you can probably tell already...

Looking at getting a 2000 up celica i am looking to mess with it so yeah... how's that 1.8? can the turbo all trac motor be droped in/has it been. or is it more worth it to throw some money at the bottem end of the 1.8 and throw a T kit at it? (btw i am almost always late to work so 15 psi of boost on a daily with a eprom a meesed with via pgmfi.org with 2 fuel maps is the idea here with no boost or miniumal for good MPG and high boost with race map)

Money is not an issue for me jsut so you all know .... i am a loan officer manager.... whihc hey anyone who is willing to help out i could get ya''l a good setup if you are in the state of MN.

Also to give a better idea of what i am doing - I have not driven the 6 or 5 speed so i don't knwo how the gearing is - and i am not looking to beat my 12 second (soon to be ) fiero- I just want the 0-60 time to be under 6 seconds and the quarter to be no more then 13.9 and no less then 14.2. Why those numbers 14.2 is about what most guys in there civics up where i live run and if i come accross the little ricers i would like to be able to take them and not have the celcica be considered a secretries car. I am also worried about the 130 tq being that low- yes wheels spin may be an issue with as light as this car is- but tq gets you moving and again i don't know how well this car is geared to do those kind of passes.

So any help by any one would be great and once more you can do anything with large sums of money but what can you do with a small budget even though you have the large budget- in other words best bang for the buck.

a 00-01 gt-s has a higher rev limiter and are the fastest of the 00-04. monkeywrench racing.com offers a 2.0L stroker package for the vvtl-i engine and c2power.com offers a stage1-3 turbo kit depending on your goals. any power level is attainable with deep pockets. good luck.

a stock gt-s 6speed will pull high 14s with a good driver. you can turbo at low psi on stock internals but beware because it is a high compression engine. if you want boost above 8psi i would reccomend new internals. even at 8psi you should be in the 13s. i wouldnt worry about tq b/c the car only weighs 2500lbs plus ull get more tq with the turbo.

Re: Fiero guy lookin to buy 2000 up celica

People have gotten 13.5-13.9 @ 100-103mph with just an intake, unbolted stock exhaust, and Apex'i Power FC with a good tune. It really wouldn't be a good idea to throw a 3s-gte (mr2 and alltrac engine) in there. That engine weighs more than twice the wieght of the 2zz that comes in the gt-s. You would have to spend more money to make enough power to overcome the weight difference.. and by that time you could have spent enough money to put the GT-S in the 13's n/a. The 2zz is a very good engine.. there's just not as much support for it as the 3s-gte. By the way, don't try chipping the stock ecu.. it has been tried before and nobody has gotten it to work. The best tuning solution is to go with a standalone.. I have the apex'i power fc and it's great. Ragnorak racing just released cams for the 2zz and they have a long tube race header in development.. with these modifications, it would be very easy to get into the 13's. It doesn't really take much power though, one guy that ran 13.7 @ 101mph dynoed at 174whp. If you need more info on the gt-s let me know.

I don't like them- simple as that- and i have seen MUCH more on the road- and i just know i don't like them with the stick or the auto - i have driven them- just really.. i dunno not for me i guess. So i would like to stick with the celcia 2000 up (4th gen not counting the supras) thanx for the suggestion though.

--------------------------------------------------------
Also - when you say stand alone will that or will that not work with the moats 2 timer that makes it so one can switch between 2 fuel maps a on a chip- or am i haveing a brain fart and that is acutally a seperate computer on the stock ecu? (i am alittle burnt out from work today- and some imdiate family issues (aka parrents and little brother are insane and i am actually looking into commiting them all i am the ONLY one that is succsesful in my immidiate family and it is a 20 year long story so um yeah i guess don't ask............. sorry)... so sorry.

Re: Fiero guy lookin to buy 2000 up celica

They dont even make automatic srt-4s. Im surprised you see more srt-4s than 7th gens since they only made about 22000 srt-4s from 2003-05 (half of them are probably scrap metal now ) . Its fine if you dont want one, it just seems pointless to me to buy a newer car just to turbocharge it? Especially if this car is going to be more of a daily driver. Oh well.

I proably won't end up throughing a turbo at it if it really just has probs breathing like your DSM (i was MASIVELY intothose for about 2 years so yeah liek the DSm...) I'll just open it up and maybe throw a new head at it. As from what i have been reading that should get me there.

Also for the 3 engines how do i makes sure that i get the 2zz-ge? or was that onyl jdm and we onyl got the 1zz?

the 2zz is the stock engine in the 00+ gt-s.

There must be quite a bit of performance parts for these engines then- because is that not the same motor they use in the elise?
