Vaccuum leak victory...

Just wanted to let you guys know i blew away a 2005 honda civic, a Haundyai (however you spell it) elantra, and a older celica with slight modifications in a race not too long ago in my 93 3.4 liter SE (still say it is a GTP). And i still have my Vaccuum leak that won't let me rev up the engine past 3.5 thousand rpms in neutral, that is what is causing the problem and the engine to die when it passes 3.5 thousand rpms in neutral... right? It does fine in gear though. What do you guys think about this problem?

Re: Vaccuum leak victory...

In neutral, there is a rev limiter like corning said, it kicks in at about 4k rpm. Free revving an engine past that can do SERIOUS engine damage. GM engineers aren't total idiots, although the Pontiac Aztek makes me wonder if they're blind.

Indeed. Although I do love that new Solstice. I saw my first one on the street yesterday and it was stunning. What took them so long?

The Solstice is SWEET!!! Too bad they can't put a body like that around the GTO drivetrain and keep it a 4 seater, they couldn't produce enough of them.

Re: Vaccuum leak victory...

You know with all due respect to the people that bought the '04 and up Grand Prixs but IMO that car places a close second next to the Aztek. UGLY!!

Beauty is only skin deep but UGLY goes to the bones. No wonder GM is having all these problems.

I wasn't going to say anything Bob, but since you brought it up, I agree. The 04-up Grand Prix's are just not right looking, especially from the rear. I wouldn's say they're Ugly like an Aztez/Rendezvous, but the 97-03's are much better looking cars.

Our models are timeless in design just like the Porsche and third gen GM "F" bodies.

Jim - KustomKid54 said it best. It looks like a turtle on wheels.

Speaking of these ricers with these Honda Civics. Are they insane? Had a kid want to run me in my Regal GS. I had to teach him a lesson and give him a spanking.

Re: Vaccuum leak victory...

I had a fart can equipped ricer POS 91 Civic try to race my GT, and he was all asses and elbows "power shifting" (and I use that term VERY loosely) across the intersection. I didn't even realize we were racing and beat him by 3 cars. We pull up to the next tlight, and he gives me the "you were lucky back there, I missed a shift" look. Light goes green, I jumped on it and was gone. Stupid little Vin Diesel wanna be. He's probably still flogging the s**T out of that POS trying to catch me.

Re: Vaccuum leak victory...

Vin Diesel can't act in a decent movie anymore.

Off topic but I wonder what they are going to do when bringing the Rocky and Rambo franchises back from the dead.

Re: Vaccuum leak victory...

They killed all interest with the last installments for both. The first couple of Rocky's were good, and only the first Rambo, the rest sucked. Rest in Peace.
