Shift Knob

Anyone know how to get a manual shift knob off? I've been twisting it pretty hard, and I don't want to break anything if there is a step that I am missing.

what kind of a reply is that ... there is no answer there ... i guess i'll just use my oil filter wrench to take it off ... and if it breaks .. i blam yoooou ... all of you .... haha just kidding ... no, but seriously ... i'm feeling a lack of love, due to the lack of help ... i know all you people who are "pimping" out their aveo can help a girl put on a shift knob ...
