Angry Throttle Response

I own a 1994 K3500 Chevrolet pickup with a 6.5 diesel engine. When it is hot outside the throttle is sometimes slow to respond, or sometimes will drop out as though I removed my foot from the pedal. It has great power once it does accelerate. Has anyone out there had a similar experience and found the trouble. If so please let me know what to look for. I have purchased a couple of manuals to no avail.

I would check your throttle cable and see if it is really lose. It may just be that it is hot ouside and your engine is just suckin in all the hot air.

I suspect a dirty TPS. Make sure everything around the cable and the sensor are clean, and check all connections.

Are you getting a CEL?

Thanks for replying to my post. This vehicle does not have a throttle cable. I don't think it has a TPS either, as it is all controlled electronically. I think it could be the speed sensor or one of the heat sensors. I have tried iceing down the temperature sensor though with out any luck. Thanks again, if you have any knowledge of the electronically controlled 6.5 engine please reply with other suggestions.

I was looking in the wrong place. I don't have a problem with the throttle or the engine. The problem is the air conditioner, it is building to much pressure, due to a plugged orfice tube. Will be having the system cleaned, the tube replaced, and recharged soon. Thanks for the suggestions.
