2002 Sentra GXE to bluebird GTir motor swap

i been thking i just got my car and almost all my friends cars are faster then mine and im trying to lok for a turbo kit but i dnt think they make them for the 2002 nissan sentra gxe. tht tpisses me off. but anyways if any1 has done it or tryed or know, let me kno how will an SR20 nluebird engine will fit on the 2002 nissan and if tht will be the best choice tht i can go with or if there is anything else to do it??? htnks

you can fab a turbo kit for it. you can put the SR20DE in and there are a few kits for that. or the Bluebird, or a GTi-r. either will work. depends on how much money or time you wanna spend. my boy has a B15 with SR20DE motor in it. it came with the same 1.8 in your GXE. but he put the SE engine in made it 5 Speed. we had a turbo on it and them nitrous and now it just all motor with most of the bolt ons.

I'm not sure if money was an issue, but why didn't you just go with the SE-R or the Spec V? It's a few grand more but with almost 50 more HP and torque. Besides, the QR25 is a better engine over the SR20.

that is not true. the SR20 is one of the best motors nissan made. the QR25 has had so many issues. how many fast, drifting, racing nissans have sr20s as opposed to Qr25. only realtime racing nissan uses that engine. that i know of. that motor is not even a comparison.

If the SR20 was so great, then why did nissan get rid of it??? The SR20 was around for many years but it needed an upgrade, and it's called the QR25. By the way, the '04-'05 QR25s are improved over the '02-'03. Those issues you reffered to were related to the early QR25s.

you cant be serious. the nissan RB26DETT, CA18DET are no longer made. other great motors and cars are no longer made for various reasons. economy/market , laws etc. the Supra, MR-2, Rx-7 and there respective motors are no longer in production. are there replacements any better? the 2Jz-GTE , 13B and 3SGTE were alot better than what replaced them. The SR20 is alot stronger than the Qr25 and is alot more performance oriented. It was built will forced induction in mind. that is the motor that came in the silvias, and Gti-r (nissans rally car) what sports car come now with that Qr25? NONE!!! a sedan that they said made 175 hp which hnever even made that number it dynoed at 153 hp and nissan couldn't find a more suitable excuse than saying it must have been a factory lemon. it has torque because the have such long stroke. which equals weak rods ...limited piston speed...which equals low rev limit. any real nissan guy will tell you the SR20 is up there with the likes of the best 4 cyl engines ever made!

Look, i'm not trying to argue with you, but as for the dynoed 153Hp is great considering a 20% HP loss to the wheels. I just think it's kind of dumb when nissan guys are talking trash saying their SR20 is better than everyone elses, it sounds like Honda ricers talking trash saying their VTEC is the sh**. But I tell you one thing, I would prefer an SR20 over VTEC.

get an SR20VE NEO-VVL if you really wanna talk about Vtech
190 underated Hp all motor...better than the honda v-tech and even QR25 variable valve timing

when you go to nissan performance mag scroll down to SR20Ve swap on the left and read all about it. the 187hp is underated. just like the SR20VET 280hp...never heard of that one neither. its from an X-Trail GT. a small nissan SUV like rav 4. it hav v-tech and turbo.

Do these engines even meet Californai Air standards, if not, they're illegal. When you say G20, you mean Infinit? I thought that was an SR20 like the Sentra SE '00.

does anything pass smog in CA? all these engines we swap are probably illegal in most states. in fact they are probably stolen in japan! once you put an engine in your car that is older than your car its illegal. espesially if that wasn't the engine that came out of it. the infinity G20 is known as a Primera overseas. the SR20Ve comes in other models too i can't remember the name. There are SR16VE 's too. there is one version of the VE called N1 which made 200hp from 1.6L. Now thats some nissan goodness.
