Gauges not working and funny sounds.
Hey guys Ive got a problem. The other day my turn signals, clock, heat gauge, tachometer, and fuel gauge all went out at the same time. Does anyone have a clue as to what this could be? Maybe a short in the wiring or just a fuse? And on another subject a couple weeks ago someone tried to steal my car (luckily they were stopped). Ever since my car has been making some very strange noises. The closest thing I can compare them to would be a modem dialing up. It sounds almost identical. Could this be vacuum hoses? I really dont feel like taking this thing to a mechanic just to charge me an arm and a leg for a diagnosis. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks |

the other things arent all connected on the same fuse, but you can still check them under the dash, as for the wierd noises, when do they occur?
shifting, idle, etc???

i dunno if this helps but on my last 90 Dx...i heard a similair noise. a week later i noticed my tach, gas gauge, and something else quit working and my check engine light came on. it was just a loose speedo cable. have you checked yours?

The noises usually occur only at idle. I didnt check the speedo cable but I will since you had a similar problem. The only thing different is the fact that the noise in my car happened after the gauges stopped working, but I will definitely check it out. Thanks for the help guys.
