Check Engine Light

Whever I start my car up it will idle pretty roughat around 800 rpm's and then usually if I rev it up to around 2500 and let it fall back down my check engine light will come on and then idle will be smooth and sometimes relatively high around 1200 rpm's. Ive swapped in a b18b1 motor and its turbocharged into my 95 civic.

Modifications:
Engine swap: b18b1
Turbo Kit: Custom
Walboro 255 Fuel pump
SAFC-2 controller
FMU Vortech 12:1 ratio
Missing Link (Bypass)

Re: Check Engine Light

So, do you know what the check engine light code is? With knowing that, it's a shot in the dark.

Re: Check Engine Light

Ok thanks for the link I checked the code and got a # 3 CEL which I guessing is the MAP sensor. Now I did have a missing link on there but I took it off and the check engine light has been even when the missing link was still hooked up. Is it possible that I have a vacumn leak somewhere or do I need to just go and purchase a 3 bar map sensor?

Re: Check Engine Light

the missing link sounds messed up was it installed correctly? and why does seem like everyone wants to throw money away for a 3 bar. you can pick up a 2.5 for half the price and i doubt you will be boosting past 21psi. the stock map is fine for 10psi and has been proven to work up to 17psi just with a nasty rich spot between 9 and 16 psi

Re: Check Engine Light

well ok I was driving in town the other day and I was driving pretty rough...well all of the sudden my blow off valve quits working and I pop the hood and there is a vacumn leak....on the bottom of the missing link valve there is a felt tip or something in the bottom to bleed off the boost well it fell out...so I removed it and now the car runs better than ever.... since I have removed it the car runs really good and the check engine light stays off; however, whenever I reach the full amount of boost it comes back on....Im only running 7 psi....I think I need a new boost gauge?
