brake troubles

I just bought a 90 Dakota off of my buddy. All of the brake lines need to be replaced because they are really rusty. I have disconnected all of them except for the one in the back. There is a steel line that connects to a rubber hose, I accidentally snapped the steel line and the fitting is stripped so I cannot disconnect it from the hose I tried everything (Plus it is really rusty and I've even tried penetrating fluid). Is there anyway to disconnect the rubber hose at the other end where it hooks into the tee on the axle or does that tee come off the axle somehow? I'm trying to hurry this up cuz I need the truck to move so any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks.

Re: brake troubles

No, you DON'T wanna mess with any seals. Brake lines have an enormous amount of pressure when the brakes are applied, that's why almost all of the lines are metal. You are going to have to keep working on that connection or go after a new rubber hose section.

I'm not sure what hose you are talking bout in the back, I know they have them in the front, I had to redo my front ones...NEW....I'm sorry there isn't another way. Brakes suck.

The hose is one piece with the tee. You have to remove the 2 steel lines that go into the tee and then the tee should be held on the axle with a vent(pipe) or a bolt. You'll need to pick up a new rear hose.
