96 S10 4.3 V6 Vortec engine light on
I have a 1996 S10 4.3 V6 Vortec. The service engine soon light came on. The only thing that I can tell thats wrong with it is that it bogs out just a little while Im idleing. Dont know whats wrong and would like some suggestions. It only has 46000 miles on it.

Buy a code reader and follow the directions to retrieve the codes. The reader will come with a book listing the codes and what they mean. When the "service engine soon light" comes on it is usually because of an emissions equipment problem, but a spark plug miss or other such things will bring it on also.
You cannot tell anything without the codes. You can do it yourself or go to a dealer or other such place and get them read. The codes will point you in the direction of the problem and you can then fix it. Hope this helps... later.. eti engineer |
