Progress: VW Rallyegolf

Hi there,

I've been here a while but this is my first thread.

I am going to make a Revell / Fujimi golf crossover, with the Fujimi body and the engine bay of revell's mk2 GTI 16v.
The engine will be a resin copy of revell's Corrado G60 kit made by Julian a.k.a. Das Wiesel.
Suspension will be made of Revell/Fujimi's mk3 vr6 (same kit, have em both) with working steering, and 4wd conversion with Tamiya Toyota Supra rear axle.

The original:

Progress:

First i've cut the hood and fitted the front end of the Revell engine bay.
Then i worked on the bodywork with mulliput two part epoxy putty, and reshaped and reshaped and reshaped.. Still need some slight modifications, but that's not a major problem.
Now i'm working on the front end, which is completely scratch made.

Hey guys, thanx for all the comments.

I have no pics of the engine copy, because Julian is busy this school, so i've got to be patient. It doesn't bother me because this will be a long term project.

As for the AWD: I have picture of the rear suspension from a German magazine, and I'm going to use parts of Tamiya's Supra, which will be modified to replicate the rallye's suspension.

keep up the good work. is there putty work on the body? The pics kinda suggest that you flared the fenders, did you? Also are you gonna do a turbo IMO that would be sweet.

In fact this engine is already charged with a G-loader, a belt driven compressor, developed by VW. You could see it in my previous post, left from the middle, directly linked to the airfilter box.

You're wrong too, mate . The Germans call it a G-lader, same as the dutch word, I didn't know if other people understood what a lader was, so i just translated the word into English.

Small update:

I finished the strip under the headlights and did some work on the radiator.
Revell did some texturing on the fan-side of the radiator. But since the radiator will be visible from the outside, i decided to cut it and turn it around Also I started the grill.

So the engine isn't finished yet, that's what I already knew because I'm waiting for this nice engine.
