Re: wbo2 question

You have to have both, IIRC a wideband doesnt replace the factory o2 but simply goes on next to it or something

Re: wbo2 question

I just did this research . You need the standard O2 sensor in the and you have to get a bung welded into the exhaust 36 inches from the turbo to install the WBO2.

Re: wbo2 question

^^^ Yup. You'll have 3 O2s then. You need to weld a new bung on the DP in order to have the WB. And you can find them anywhere. $350 is a good price.

Re: wbo2 question

There are several optoins, most widely used are the techedge (wbo2.com), zietronix, aem, plx, and probably 1 or 2 more that I am forgetting.

Compare features and decide on one. The only point I like to make is to be careful of how much the sensor itself costs. They will need to be replaced every so often, especially if you use race gas (always use pump gas for ~1000 miles before running race gas on a new O2 sensor, regular or wideband...). I used one of the Techedge kits because it uses a 27 dollar sensor that can be bought locally at any VW dealer Some of those sensors can appraoch 200 dollars at times when supplies go short, so be careful.

Re: wbo2 question

I have the zietronix wbo2, you don't need another o2 sensor cause it sends a similated narrow band to the ecu, it uses the vw o2 sensor as well but you can upgrade to bosch.

Re: wbo2 question

I haven't seen enough good data to trust the simulated 0-1v outputs yet though. For a daily driver that needs to get good mileage I would rather put my trust in a known good sensor, but perhaps someday I'll get around to trying out the simulated narrowband output for myself. How is yours doing? Any signs of it being off, like AFR too lean or rich at cruise or bad gas mileage?

Well it was on my talon which hasn't run in a while. But is was fine, afr was good at wot and idle. I'm probably going to put it on my eclipse soon, but i think i'm going to leave my stock one on considering i have to weld another bung on 12" away from the turbo. I don't want to have to weld over the old o2 bung.
