Magnaflow exhaust tailpipe question

i installed my new magnaflow exhaust on my 98 trans am, but i cant seem to get the passenger tailpipe centered. It gets pressed up against the bumper, it seems like the rubber peice is to short that connects the tailpipe to underneath the car... i was wondering does anyone have any suggestions..or what... anything will help thanks...

Re: Magnaflow exhaust tailpipe question

Pics maybe??
I can't remember how it hangs up.
The loudmouth was pretty simple. Loosen the clamp on the part it splits and center the tip, then tighten.
Maybe try loosening the pipe where it exits the muffler and see if you can move the tip down some.

sorry no pics..

".i thought there was a bolt on that year that is attatched to the frame that goes to the rubber peace that is attatched to the tail pipe."

yes thats true..are you saying to adjust that bolt that connects the frame or Only the rubber peice...its just seems to me that the rubber peice is a little short...that it pulls the tailpipe up when you slide the in the peice thats welded to the tailpipe ..i dont know.. thanks tho

Re: Magnaflow exhaust tailpipe question

IF I remember right....you can loosen the bolt and adjust it to your liking, then re-torque.
I think I have that piece sitting around....hold on.

Pretty sure that is how it works. Just looked at the metal hanger. Of course...it isn't on the car and it was some time ago since I last fooled around with it.

Re: Magnaflow exhaust tailpipe question

Good luck man.
Figuring out the little stuff tends to be the first step to NEVER leaving your car alone.

I remember when I bought mine 4 years back. I told myself...basic mods, nothing more.
Well, I did those.

And a couple more.
