Finished: Fujimi F430

Just finished this one.
Color is Tamiya White Pearl with Clear Pearl.
Interior Humbrol Satin black and flat red.
Didn't took really long to build, every fits perfectly on this kit.
This is the first Fujimi kit I've built that has a nice strance from the box.
It's in facts so long that the wheels slighty rub on the fenders.
My first attempt at propper panel lines, used thinned satin black, flaws were cleaned up after letting the thinner dry out for a day.
I don't really like Ferrari's, but I've come to love this one.
Comments welcomed

Next project: Tamiya Honda S800

Re: Finished: Fujimi F430

hi bro.. nice work .. maybe you can do masking when you do the windscreen rubber... try pressing the masking tape before you apply the black paint so that the black paint will not flow to yr white body.. maybe you can try using hair dryer to dry the black paint.. do not place it too near... hope to see yr new work again...

Nice work! You've tried some new things and it's come up pretty good!
As mentioned above, try masking the window trims very well, and preferably airbrush the black on rather than regular brush. Takes practise, but soon enough you'll get it perfect.
Well done!

Re: Finished: Fujimi F430

Thanks for the comments and tips.
I ussually get better results on my windowrubbers. And I allways do them by brush, no masking.
I just used a worn out brush on this one and the lines of the rubbers are a bit fuzzy on this kit.
I tried masking tape once but paint kept creaping under it, especially where the tape was bent around corners.
Does masking with BMF work?

Masking tape work wery well, only use Tamiya kind on the edges, this kind is soft, conformable, and thin. Place the tape , press it carefully and cut with a sharp knife along edges, so peel tape in excess and spray or brush. Another way is outlining edges with a flrxible 1mm wide tape strip and fill the rest.

Well at least fi you don't like mask you'll outline edges with a permanent black fine felt anf fill all with the brush

Re: Finished: Fujimi F430

Looks great. The panel lines are a little heavy, I would have gone with a lighter color. Otherwise, though, it's just totally excellent. I love the detail painting in the engine bay.

You can always try using the black Gundam panel line markers. There are two different ones available, one has a black cap and a blue pen tube (GM01), the other one is all black (GM20). The latter marker (GM20) is water based and will wash off/rub off very easily and in my opinion should not be used if the model is going to be touched or moved around. The former of the two markers (GM01) I believe is not water based and is more resilient to handling. I have not used the GM01 marker, but it should be possible to clean up any mistakes that you make by using an eraser. You can always double check the info that I have provided by checking out the Mr. Hobby website (provided that you know Japanese, or can get it translated)
