looks like cooling problems are popular

ok i have had zero luck with my 02 cavalier,
first the clutch went out about a year ago so i had to get that fixed, then outa nowhere the fuelpump went bad so i had to replace that, not even a week after i replaced the fuelpump my low coolent light came on, so i checked it and filled it up, then it started overheating a day or so later, i noticed it wasint leaking anywhere in the hoses, it was spraying outa the overflow hose, so my first thought was thermostat, so i replaced it.... still same problem so i thoughtto my self must be the waterpump (duh) ....... so i just put in a brand new waterpump today........ .... wtf.... anyone have any clue whatsoever what could be wrong with this hunk of crap car???

Re: looks like cooling problems are popular

Sounds like a bad head gasket or cracked head.Combustion gases and pressure is building in the cooling system and causing it to superheat.GO to the garage and ask for a "block check" test to be performed on the radiator.A glass bottle of chemical is held over the open cap while the engine is running....if the fluid changes color,hydrocarbons/carbon monoxide is present....meaning combustion gasses in the coolant.Maybe its the lovely Dexcool causing troubles.
