removing rack and pinion

hi guys i am gonna change the rack and pin on my car and was just wondering how big of deal it is. i see the 4 bolts holding it in place but how exactly so i disconnect the steering from the rack and pinion

It's really just those bolts, maybe a couple on the input shaft, and the linkages on the knuckles....

It has splines, the column will come apart from the box, but to get it out you have to remove your shift linkage and exhaust. That requires some pins and clamps in the linkage...

If you can find a service manual to download, I have one but canr remember where I got it....then youll see that theres a cover under the dash you need to take off, I think theres something there, and under the car its pretty much all there, just loosen the sahft and slide it out once its all unbolted, I had my car on a lift today and looked at it, Im pretty sure youd be able to get it out without disconnecting the shift linkage, as for the exhaust Im not sure, Im running a custom tanabe setup....

ya looks like i got to take off a bolt uner the dash to seperate the rack and pinion from the steering column
