stereo.. Antenna will not go up

I had a stereo in my car. The cd player would light up but no sound was coming out of the speakers. So we thought the out puts went on it. So we went and bought a new cd player. Today we put it in but the same thing is happening cd player comes on but still no sound also the antenna will not go up. It is a power antenna. Could the problem be from the antenna? Or is there something else that we are missing? Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you,
