Reply Quickly!!

Alright, I'm going to have my gears/LSD/install kit installed today, but the chip has not arrived yet. PCMforless.com had some difficulty with my chip and it won't be here until friday. If I get my gears changed today, and if I drive the car I know the speedo will be off, but will it damage my car in any way? Will it still run fine? I don't know if it will hurt my car without my retuned chip.

Thanks!

Kevin

Re: Reply Quickly!!

It'll be fine, all your changing is the gear ratio

But do you have a chip in it at all?

Re: Reply Quickly!!

Yeah the stock chip.

Someone said that they were going to redo my shift points. I just want to make sure that won't harm the tranny since they will not be reprogrammed.

Oh, that's right, yours is a newer model. Ummmm, I would think the PCM would adapt to the best of it's ability and atleast let you get home, probably wouldn't be a good idea to turn up the loud pedal until recalibrated for the new drive line and final ratios are in the tables.....

You'll be totally fine, as long as you don't go WOT. No worries... when I put in the 3.42s (from 3.08s) I drove around for a month + with it off
