Re: Audio

I assume you mean the "stock" cassette player. This rather depends on the year, so I'll give it to you for 90-93.

1. Disconnect battery.
2. Remove the center console - 4 or 6 screws in side, then lift it out.
3. Take out ashtray, then remove 3 screws holding ashtray frame in place. Let it hang.
4. Loosen 2 screws under/at rear of radio (holding rear support bracket).
5. Slide radio out and unplug it.

After that, you're on your own -- it all depends what came with the Pioneer unit you acquired.

Re: Audio

Alright guys, I'm having the same problem! I got a Pioneer CD player as well, and it's not turning on! I followed all of the instructions on how to do it for 1989-1993 Honda Accords, but for some reason it just wont turn on. I re-checked the wires to confirm they were connected correctly, and they are. What could this be? I know it's not the radio being defective or anything, so I don't know. Do you think I might have blown a fuse? The stock tape player worked just fine until I took it out and put in the CD player which wont turn on. Any help i recieve is GREATLY Appreciated!!!!!!! I'm not looking forward to paying $120 for installation :-)

Re: Audio

Whose instructions? Go back to the supplier and ask them. Meanwhile, sure - it could be a fuse. Check them!

Re: Audio

Well, ok so I checked the fuse, and it was bad! So I drove down and got some more, but that must not be the only problem--it still fails to turn on. Here are the instructions I used: http://www.installdr.com/InstallDocs...PDF/466033.pdf

I followed the wiring chart they had, and maybe it's incorrect. But if that's so, I have no idea what the correct wiring is. My CD player has purple wires, green wires, etc. and my car has wires that are totally different colors (but all match those in the diagram found at http://www.installdr.com/InstallDocs...PDF/466033.pdf)

Oh, one more quick note: I put together all of the wires as shown in the chart, only my CD player has 12, and there are 13 to my car, so one is left unconnected to anything. It's yellow with a white stripe.

Thanks again for the help!

Re: Audio

I have to wonder if you have a short, and you blew the NEW fuse. Check.

Re: Audio

Hahaha, I guess I'm a total n00b at this. I forgot to unplug my battery, and so when all of the wires (+ and -) would touch, it probably blew a fuse to the CD player itself. Anyways, I returned the CD player because my uncle said he could hook me up with an even better deck for half price and free install.

Thanks anyways! I really appreciate the help!

Re: Audio

please what ever you, make sure that you use a wire harness. its a little plastic piece that would match up to the cars wire harness. first you match all of the wires from the deck to the aftermarket wire harness, then you just plug the harness into the stock wire harness. installing a stereo can sometimes be a little complicated if you do not use an aftermarket wire harness. you start to have issues as the one that you are having yourself. good luck and keep us posted. (good choice...pioneer maakes a great product in my opinion. i will not use anything alse in my car unless someone can show me something better) have fun with the install.

Re: Audio

Yeah, that was the problem. I didn't use a wire harness for the install, and tried to hardwire it all together. If I had a wire harness I could have done it just fine, but I was to excited and didn't take the time out to go buy one! Thanks for the help. I love my new deck too--Pioneer for the win!

Thanks!
