'94 Caprice Classic dies when warm

Hello, I was looking at this ad on the internet and it says,
"DOES NOT RUN
Broken ignition switch mechanicals.
Before that it had trouble running. Would run perfect until warm then
die like a switch had been hit. Would crank but not start until cold.
Would restart and run perfect until warm... Did this dozens of times.
No idea whats was wrong. Suspect computer.
Maroon inside and out. Best offer takes. 350 cid"

Now I was wondering what the problem could be, any ideas? Thanks.

Bet the computer is fine, sounds to me more like sensor issues or I have heard of a freak case where the CCP system was screwed up and fresh air couldn't get into the tank and as fuel was burned vacuum built and it would overpower the pump and "ran out of gas" till enough air leaked into the tank to allow the pump to pressurize the system again.

Most of the ones I've dealt with had bad ECMs. The electric control module is located on the distributor plate and is easy to change, runs about $40. If it is bad, you will have a no-spark condition at the spark plugs. When it happens, take off one plug wire, stick a screw driver into the wire end, ground it to the engine. Have someone turn the engine over, you should see a fat blue spark jump between the engine & screw driver. If not, I'd suspect the ECM is bad.

Sounds like you missed the part where it is a 94, which does not have a Ecm but rather a very reliable Pcm, or the spark module where you are stating since it has an opti the spark module is bolted to the front of the drivers side head.

Re: '94 Caprice Classic dies when warm

Sorry boys & girls, I guess I missed the year and should really stick to the pre-1991 cars that I'm more familiar with, hope no one tried to access or remove a part that is not there!
