Re: Such A Noob Question

305 or 350 cubic inches displacement is what we mean... just different ways of measuring, 305= 5.0 liters of displacement 350= 5.7...

the displacement of an engine is determined by the volume displaced by the piston as it moves up in the cylinder

Re: Such A Noob Question

different sizes of cylinder bores and stroke of the crank will determine the displacement.

Re: Such A Noob Question

a 350 has a 4 inch bore and a 3.48" stroke...a 305 has a 3.736 bore and a 3.48 stroke and the ls1 has a 3.9 bore and 3.62 or 3.625 stroke and is 346 cubic inches.

Well with my Grand Prix I was taking it off roading and when I got it stuck I would just floor it and have a buddy push (only paid $300 for the car so I didnt care much about it) Also with the Aerostar my family ran that van hard. Rolled the odomitor once and was half way to doing it again in about 5 years hehe. An the venture..well the oil pumped went while we were on the highway which put a piston through the block(i think thats what the guy at the shop said) An the tranny wouldnt shift outta OD at all so lol it blew quick lmao
