I have a 99 GA GT with a 3.4, a 94 GA SE with a 2.3 ( I think), and a 95 s-10 blazer. Will the K&N filter systems really save on gas and improve on horsepower? I thought about trying it on all my vehicles, but I don't want to waste my money. Thanks!

Re: K&N filters
They 'might' give you a little extra mileage. Not much though...if you even notice.
Power...very little over a clean paper filter. That said...I have K&N air filters in both my cars. I like being able to clean it instead of paying for a new one. Of course...you have to buy the stuff to clean them. ![]() I know some guys that just run paper filters and replace them when they are dirty. Probably cheaper if they stay clean for a year or so.

Re: K&N filters
Paper filters last a year?! like to see that
![]() The K&Ns are not cheap, but you figure if you change the air filter every time you change the oil, that ads up quick. For me that is 5-6 times a year, @ 9-10$ each, $60 just thrown away. When for $40 more I get a life time filter, that sounds so kick ass cops will stop you just to see it up close ![]() Just my

Re: K&N filters
The only way to find out is to try it.
Some times they do and sometimes they do not. Different cars react different. One word of cauition is go easy on the oil in them. The oil can get into a mass air flow sensor and throw it off. The Blazer already has a oem factory true forced cold air from fender well and grille area intake system on it. Here is a link on air filter test you may want to read. home.usadatanet.net/~jbplock/ISO5011/SPICER.htm MT

Re: K&N filters
The 92-95 grand am's with the quads also have a cold air induction built in, if you pull the air filter out you will see where it goes under the headlight. I run a k&n in my 95, love it.

Re: K&N filters
Also to add to what MT said about to much oil, It will also screw up you IAT sensor, if your vehicls hav an IAT that is.
My 99 had the stock CAI it was small tubing, hell I couldnt even breath right through it. Let alone my car.I use a newr K&N cone filter on my CAI, but I hav heard the flat rectangle(stock air box) K&N works reall well adn sounds good, but not like the cones ![]() Btw THe flat type are cheaper than the cones.

Re: K&N filters
You can soak the filter in soap and water to clean it you just have to make sure you rinse it out real good and dry it. I use PAM cooking spray as the oil as it a lot cheaper to buy and has half the calories of regular oil.
