Speed sensor experiment w/clutch
I have a 93, 3.2l, man trans. Rodeo. I was hoping someone with a 93-95 Rodeo with the same could do a little experiment and let me know the results.
With the engine running, clutch engaged, and vehicle stopped. Put trans in 3rd or 4th gear and rev engine up to 2500-3000 rpm. Does the u/s (upshift) indicator light up when engine is rev'ed?
My u/s indicator is lighting up and I'm wondering if it should. If the vehicle is stopped, it shouldn't matter what gear your in, as long as the clutch is engaged, right????? I'm wondering if my speed sensor or something else is going bad.
I'm not getting a code for the speed sensor, but I'm getting one for the EGR. There is no sensor on the EGR (its new too), and I seem to be getting good flow from the tube. How does the ECM determine there is a EGR problem?
