(WIP) Ford F-150 Lightning Large Pictures
I've been building this kit for a while now, and thought that I would show some progress pictures. This weekend I will be doing some modifications in the trailer and building a diorama base, the car broken down on a hill, in the sand or mud, I've already started carving the foam out, should be finished by next week at the latest. The car, is a straight out of the box, painted in Halfords Aluminium, followed by clear laquer, it was then give a mud effect using Tamiya Weatherin Compounds. Its my first go with them, and they are quite tricky, but should give good results. The texture of them is very much like the real thing, only a lot smaller, more to scale. What do you think so far? The front windscreen had to be made by hand, as it was missing from the kit. The kits major and only real problem is that there is nothing to glue the body to the frame, making it almost impossible to do.
![]() ![]() ![]() In the background, you can see my other project, can anyone guess what it is? ![]() ![]() I was wondering, how I can get back the shade of the original silver which was much lighter before clear coating, but it was a matt colour. Heres a picture of the before and after colours ![]() I'm sorry if the pics are a bit large, just say and I will try and make them a bit smaller. It's tricky, as the camera is a very high pixel and will only go down a certain amount before they become rubbish quality. |

Re: (WIP) Ford F-150 Lightning Large Pictures
looks like he went for a whole mud bog adventure! nicely done. the mud looks pretty good, but mabye you should add just a bit more color to give it shades of brown etc. just my opinion. i also had that cab problem, where it was hard to find a spot to glue it on. i ended competely shaving eveything off my truck including the emblem in the grille.

There are actually 4 or 5 shades of brown, which can't be seen properly on the pictures, and it doesn't look quite so covered in real life, it's very hard to photo it right.

Yeah the car in the background is the prower, I was just testing the fit of the body, which seems pretty good.
