Help
I am new to this site and am not sure if this is the right place to ask a question. So, if I am in the wrong spot could someone direct me to the right place?
I own a '95 Honda Passport. Recently I noticed a significant leak of antifreeze under the driver side of the engine next to the wheel. I cannot locate the source of the leak. I checked all hoses, water pump, oil, and radiator cap. Nothing. I refilled resevoir and radiator. Then the leak mysteriously stopped. After a week it is back again. I have no unusual noise under my hood from any belts or anything like that. This time, however, I did notice that the hose leading back into the radiator had no water in moving through it. (yes, the engine was hot but not over heating). My heater works and no wierd leaks in the vehicle. I thought I had covered all my basics. I must be missing something. Can a water pump leak then not leak then leak again? Any one out there know something that can help me. Or, should I just take it to a mechanic (that will bleed me like a fresh kill)? Please help.Theresa |

Re: Help
Assuming it's a 3.2L, check here, compliments of superfletch: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=471459 That is a common leak point on the 3.2's

Re: Help
I'm guessing that's the thread about the o-rings at the ends of the external cooling pipes on top of the engine between the heads. It turned out that wasn't the only leak I had. There are also freeze plugs on the engine that can leak and should be tested. Some are hidden between the tranny and the engine. A pressure test would help find the leak, then you could figure out which way to go. If you use a flashlight, you can see if you have coolant sitting on top of the engine, beneath the intake. Look at the front of the engine, between all the hoses and pipes up there. It's near the thermostat housing.
