92 SC2 DOHC Header on 96 SC2 DOHC
Can anyone tell me if a header pulled from a 92 SC2 will fit on a 96 SC2?
Thank You. |

Re: 92 SC2 DOHC Header on 96 SC2 DOHC
Thank you SaturnSpeed12 for your quick reply. I actually own the 92 SC2 (currently parting it out) and am thinking of buying a 96 SC2. I have removed the 92 header and downpipe. Do the 92 and 96 connections match where the down pipe meet the cat or will there be some modification involved?
Are there any other parts from the 92 I should move over to the 96 for better performance or economy. Thank You. |

Re: 92 SC2 DOHC Header on 96 SC2 DOHC
well im not sure about the downpipe completely linking up, i dont believe it does. now the only thing thats pretty good on that 92 is the flat faced valves. your 96 will have dished valves. oh yeah pull the valve cover off the 92 and replace that composite one on the 96, the aluminum one seals better, and looks better when its cleaned up/painted, anodized, powerdcoated.
the other thing good on the 91-95 dohcs, is the injectors are peak and hold (low resistance). but then you would have to modify the pcm to make them work in newer cars. |
