Smile tried google sorry still need help

I have a 97 hatch civic with the 1.6 non vtec. i recently was given a 1.6 vtec motor complete.(has hole in block) I have searched and mostly find mini me writeups. this isnt the same as a mini me right? I was told i need a vtec controller or could i get the ecu out of a car like the motor came out of and use that to control vtec? im sorry if this has been asked but i know someone on here has done this and i would greatly appreciate any help.

No its pretty much the same thing as a mini-me. As far as i know you just need to put the vtec head on the non-vtec block, use the ECU for the vtec head, and just wire it up. I don't know if its as complicated as say an LS/vtec but i'm sure if you just search through the forums you'll find some better help.

Swap the motors and get a vtec civic ecu to run it.
