94 cavalier RS trans filter.

I recently put a trans filter in my car and I noticed the only real thing that seems to hold it up is when the pan pushes back up on the filter. I mean it slides into the fitting from filter to trans which seems to hold it somewhat, even though you can turn the filter right or left. But there wasnt any screw or any hold downs. Did I miss something?
