weird thing i found in my car..

ok so tonight i was driving home and i noticed something blinking from under my dash. When i got home i noticed a black egg shaped thing which was attached to my steering column. It had a little dial on it too and a LED. It wasn't blinking with the car running so i decided to push the gas with my hand while watching this thing and once i hit a certain rpm it blinked red and green. It doesn't look like a relay either and i don't know waht to think of it. Anyone know what i'm talking about? thanks guys

Maybe its a bomb... Kinda like in Speed, only at a certain RPM instead of MPH, BOOM!

Nah, shock sensor sounds like a reasonable answer... But it should only do it with the engine off and alarm armed...

Re: weird thing i found in my car..

It is a sophisticated device that your insurance company has secretly installed to monitor your driving behavior, every time you redline your car, it activates the device and the LED turns red and sends a signal to the closest tower and then a computer automatically adds an extra dollar to your monthly premium on your car insurance....or something.
