1987 3/4 ton GMC 700r4 Transmission Problem??????

Hello,

So here's the deal, The transmission wont come out of the lower gears and truck screams to even go 35. Started to not go into Od last winter, sat all summer, had a cooler line leak and now it won't come out of low. Tranny is full/overfull of fluid, and the leaks are all solved. Thinking maybe soleniods or TCM? Any help would be appreciated.....

thanks,

-RS

Re: 1987 3/4 ton GMC 700r4 Transmission Problem??????

i had the same prob. with my tranny in my 87 half ton. in mine the clutch bands wentout abd basiclly my tranny justblew up internally, wasent much to fix when i got it home. the 700r4 trannys in the 81-87 pickups were kinda crappy, i wouldent even rebuild one unless it was done by a VERY VERY well known shop. i put a 700r4 , tourque converter, and flywheel off of a 91 transam (SP?) in my truck and love it. it pulls better, and gets better gas milage than the stock one.
