Re: 01' Passat Won't start
Hi, 1999 Passat Wagon. Do you think is battery related? Appears to be same as my problem. The car is OK for a while but apparently battery is drained overnigth. I change battery twice, Nothing!. Local mechanic said is the radio/alarm system. I would appreciate your input.
Thanks myvwproblem |

Re: 01' Passat Won't start
Did you try your other key ? Veedubmechanic will correct me but I thing 2001 was the first year with the immobilizer. Could be anything from a weak battery to a bad key, instrument cluster, convenience module... Try another key and/or a jump start.

Re: 01' Passat Won't start
dont you love vw alarm systems... i do! if the immobilizer light on the cluster flashes when you try and start the car its something to do with the cluster, key, ecm, or ignition switch. if the alarm just goes off its either a door latch, comfort module, or cluster
