Question GTI or VR6

Latley I have found myself wanting a vw but I'm not sure which one to get a GTI or a VR6 a few people told me that you can upgrade a 1.8 Gti further than a Vr6 is that true?

Re: GTI or VR6

vr6 will always make more power (it has 6cyl not 4)

1.8t is easier to make fast hp though

Re: GTI or VR6

the 1.8t is a lot easier to mod. and has almost no turbo lag. the vr6 is a really good engine and its ok to mods but the 1.8t is just so much easier to mod. my bros friend has a 1.8t jetta and he got a software package just from the software he made about 50 extra hp because the turbo is set at about 11 psi from the fact. and with the software it brought the turbo psi up to about 22 psi. so to answer your question the 1.8t can be made a hell of a lot faster than a vr6
