Re: Nissan OEM parts
Just a comment on 'genuine' -issue:
Car "manufacturers" dont manufacture "anything".
"Nissan Monday": they just assemble from leftover parts available from last week... If supply isnt enough, theyll substitute 'anythin' - not to dirupt production flow. This is true From "Ford to Nissan to Skoda". This is why on some cases nobody can be sure if a certain part fits your vehicle before seeing the actual part number.
For each car-parts category there exists only few suppliers wordlwide; each car manufacturer keeps tabs on these - just in case for 'next Monday'. Suppliers will ship their parts stamped with any required logo; typically with Nissan logo to Nissan plant... Aftermarket suppliers may also try this, and sometimes get caught.
Understanding this, one may see that 'original' -part may not have any added value, possibly only the 10x gouged price. The original part may go through more quality screening, may contain extra finishing procedures, but mostly that is only the sales price argument.
(One nice spare 'nuance' is hi-priced airplane parts. The ol jets get scrapped, parts get cleaned and packed. Packings sealed, mfg data forged. Sold as new. They tell its billion dollar bu$iness... Makes one feelin secure on takeoff.)
So what to buy? That which fits and is priced on par with similar parts on the market. Sales people on the shop desk may tell about the differences with similar lookin products: take the higher quality more pricey part - if u plan to keep the vehicle.
