I have an '85 F-350 460ci w/dual tanks that stalled while headed down the highway. Fuel seems to be getting to the carb but, when the motor starts it runs for about 15-20 seconds and then stalls like it's starved for fuel. Checked a few emissions related parts and replaced the fuel check valve/regulator(?) and filter. Either tank = same thing.
Any ideas would be great. |

Re: 85 F-350 stalls
Check out your coil. I had a very similar situation and it turned out that when the coil heated up it would quit working.
Good luck Jim Quote:

I'LL BET YOU DOLLARS TO DOUGHNUTS THAT IT'S THE IGNITION MODULE LOCATED ON THE DRIVERS SIDE FENDER WELL. BUT IT COULD ALSO BE A BROKEN WIRE THATS LEADS TO IT. OUSIDE LOOKS GOOD BUT WIRE INSIDE SEPERATES ONCE THE ENGINE WARMS UP.
TRY SWAPPING IT, IT'S CHEAP (ONLY ABOUT $20.00). LET ME KNOW IF THIS HELPS.TAKE CARE, DAVID ([email protected]) |
