4th gen interior in an 85?

Hi I'm still kinda new here, and also still gettin used to my working with my F-body. I've been looking into a new interior for my car, and buying old 3rd gen factory would cost a ton, and reupholstering is just as if not more expensive. My friend has a 95 trans am ws6, and by far the interior is much nicer. I noticed while fixing one of his seats that they would most def. fit into my car, with little or no modification. Also, much of the other trim and pannels seem like they'd fit just fine... So my question is has anyone tried this before, have pictures of the end product? Any idea which years/models work? I could pick up a 1995 ws6 thats been rather badly dammaged but with perfect interior for abut 1500$ up here right now, so I was just wondering if anyone can give me a little direction. Also I was wondering if anyone knows a good place to order subframe connectors from with straightpipe exhaust in. Any info'd help. Really can't wait to see this finished if it'll work.

Re: 4th gen interior in an 85?

It can be done but I remember something about the dash having to be moded. I will ask a member about it who I know put a 4th gen interior in his car but the seats are a direct bolt in.

Thank god about the seats. I was pretty sure about that one. Also, what about doors/rear sail pannels( think thats the name), are they also direct or req. modding. If you could get that guy my username I would love some info. The pannels I'm talking about are where the speakers are housed. thanks much.

Re: 4th gen interior in an 85?

Also, a while back I came across a page in a forum where a bunch of members posted pictures of their 3rd gens with 4th gen interiors. They're amazing and look fantastic. Thought maybe it would help you out. And sorry mods for posting a link to another forum, but it's only to help give the guy some ideas.

Well here's the link: http://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/show...hreadid=265321

Re: 4th gen interior in an 85?

that's an awesome idea, does anybody know if you could fit 4th gen seats in a 2nd gen? i found a completely totalled 4th gen that a guy said i could have for $100, and the seats are mint, leather, and got the bird on the head rests, same with the rear seats, came out of a ws6 trans am, but i didn't think there was anything i could use out of it.
