I'm new, Raced Civic in D

It had snowed in the morning(temp +5 according to my overhead console). In the lane I was in there was about 1/2 inch of snow, The lane the civic was clean due to frequent traffic. I wasnt going to race but i needed to get into the right lane because 1 and a half blocks up there was a parked car. So i looked over to see if this civic guy was going to floor it or not... It turns out to be this dam fine girl. And she was getting ready to go. I am think o crap. The light goes green before i can flip into 4x4 mode, so i take off in AWD. My rear driver side wheel and front passenger wheel start to spin. I can see the Orange civic pulling a little bit. I let my Limited slip kick in and all 4 wheels dig in and i start to pull a head. I hear the civic engine whining then drop to go to 2nd. I am still in first(assuming since it is auto) Going about 45 kmh when i cross the other side of the intersection. At this point i am at half throttle. (from what i hear from the civic hotty, sounds like full gas.) After i get going straight again, i floor it revs go from 2,500 (aprox) to 4,000(aprox) and climbing I am throwing snow up in a big cloud behind me. by the time i hit 90kmh i was a 2 car lenths ahead of the girl. I let off the gas and cruise at 1,000 rmp till my street. she tails me until i get there then takes off. It didnt sound like a stock civic, i am sure it had bolt ons, and it was clean. except for actual dirt from the roads. I would have like to take with her but, i had my entire family in my Durango at the time, So it was Me, Mom, Dad, and brother. Bringing groceries home from the store.
My shiny mod

it has nothing to do with me thinking you're insulting honda. i just have no idea wtf you are trying to say in your story.

exmaple:

Quote:
It turns out to be this dam fine girl. And she was getting ready to go.
Was she holding up a sign saying she was going to floor it now? Is there some twitch that all drivers do before they get ready to floor it off a light?

Quote:
My rear driver side wheel and front passenger wheel start to spin.
I assume your truck has some kind of indicator as to which wheels are spinning?

Quote:
I can see the Orange civic pulling a little bit. I let my Limited slip kick in and all 4 wheels dig in and i start to pull a head.
Is your limited slip a magical limited slip that doesn't work for the first 100 feet after you leave a light?

Quote:
I am still in first(assuming since it is auto)
You can't tell when your truck has shifted out of 1st when you are trying to accelerate quickly from a stop?

Quote:
I hear the civic engine whining then drop to go to 2nd. I am still in first(assuming since it is auto) Going about 45 kmh when i cross the other side of the intersection.
Holy shit!! Is this an intersection big enough that even the titanic could make a U-turn? HowTF do you just cross the other side of the intersection already going 45kmh, and the civic has already shifted to 2nd?

Quote:
After i get going straight again, i floor it revs go from 2,500 (aprox) to 4,000(aprox) and climbing I am throwing snow up in a big cloud behind me. by the time i hit 90kmh i was a 2 car lenths ahead of the girl. it sounds like the only person racing here was you. congrats, you beat yourself. (not just racing either I bet)

Quote:
I would have like to take with her
i can't even figure out wtf you were trying to say to here. please diagram this sentence.

Quote:
i had my entire family in my Durango at the time, So it was Me, Mom, Dad, and brother.
does the apple fall far from the tree?

Re: I'm new, Raced Civic in D

OKay, The girl indicated she was going by watching the light to go yellow and holding a rev.

I was looking over to see if i should go hard off the start or not.

The intersection is quite large. Sorry i did not specify.

As for knowing which wheels are spinning, You can hear them. Trust me, when you are off road you learn to tell which ones are spinning and why.

Limited slip is only on the rear of this vehical. If it was locked then either both wheels would spin (talking rear wheels) or not. In LS one wheel has to loose traction and the other spins at example 1/4 of the speed of the spinning wheel.

Traction controll on my car does not engage until i am over 25 kmh. Dont know why just does.

As not know what gear i was in. it felt like i dropped a gear after i floored it. thus assuming it was in 2nd.

And oops.. take was supposed to be talk. My fault.

Dont insult me. Thats uncalled for.

Ill race you on a track i choose ill take you to the mud bogs.

excellent, we've clarified 2 things here.

Quote:

"large"..... you were going 45kmh (about 27mph) by the time you got to the other side, and she was already shifting to 2nd. if that's the case, then she wasn't racing you, which is what it sounds like.

i dont spend a lot of time off-roading in a truck, so i'll have to take your word for it.

you know all this, yet in your story make it sound like you were already well into accelerating, and then your LSD kicked in. LSD is not something that turns on or off. it works as soon as you lose traction.

Quote:
Traction controll on my car does not engage until i am over 25 kmh. Dont know why just does.
wait, so you don't have an LSD then, you have traction control. or both. wait, what? you do understand LSD is different from a traction control such as VSC.

your truck is posessed.

that makes SO MUCH more sense now.

call it sarcastic poking.

have fun with that. will Brad Paisley be there?
