97 Z24 Dome Light Stuck On

Hi

I have a 1997 Cavalier and my dome light bulb was never in when i bought the car (used). When i decided to put a bulb in the car it constantly stays on incl. when all the doors are properly closed, and the interior lights are stuck on.. the only thing i can think of is a sensor when the car was rebuilt was never resetted and it thinks the door is open?.. any ideas or similar problems with solutions would be great...

is their a switch for the dome light if so make sure it isnt in the on position
